Exercise
🛣️My Journey
I used to only see exercise as a form of punishment and means of burning calories. Now, it is one of my favourite evidence based study methods as well as my no.1 coping strategy for stress as a Doctor. Click here to learn more about my journey with exercise and how it’s changed my life.
For almost as long as I can remember, I've had a tough time with disordered eating and body image issues 😔. But it's taken me a while to unlearn some of those negative thought patterns and realize that exercise is so much more than just a way to burn calories! 🙌
I mean, did you know that exercise can actually improve your brain function 🤓, boost your mood 😊, and help you sleep better 💤? Plus, it's a great way to reduce stress and anxiety 🧘, and build up some serious self-esteem by learning a new skill 💪.
And let's not forget that exercise is so much more diverse than just running on a treadmill at the gym 🏋️♀️. There are so many different ways to get moving and find something that you really love! 🤸♀️
Once I realized all of this, I was able to find a new excitement and appreciation for exercise, instead of just feeling like I was punishing myself for eating foods I love.
