My Story
My Journey
I started primary school in a beach town in North Wales.
I received some of the highest GCSE grades at my state comprehensive school. On the surface, I was excelling, but years of self-inflicted pressure, expectations, and perfectionism caused unimaginable damage to my mental health.
I flopped my a levels. My relationship with my body, food and my mental health were at their lowest point.
I took a gap year and volunteered for 3 months in a mother and baby clinic in zabmia before coming home to work full time as a carer.
After getting 4 reactions from medical school, I finally received an offer and made it my mission to never fail academically again. This led to evidence based study methods.
To save others from the mistakes I had made, I started a youtube channel
My medical school vlogs begin to reach more people than jsut my friends and family and it starts to become an income source.
I hit 100k subscribers on Youtube.
I graduate medical school and start working as a doctor in the NHS.
Let me share my story with you! 📖
I used to be a great student until I reached 16. I thought I was academically untouchable until the exams got tougher I started struggling mentally and found it hard to keep up with my studies. My grades suffered, and I even faced four rejections from medical school. But I didn't give up, and eventually, I was accepted! 🙌
I knew I had to make some changes. So, I started using evidence-based study techniques, and they worked wonders! Not only did I go from barely passing to getting the best grades I'd ever gotten, but I also achieved the best work-life balance I'd ever had! 🤩
This is what led me to developing the study method that got me through medical school that I share in my e book - the faye bate method
During my second year of medical school, I started a YouTube channel to share what I had learned. I never would have imagined what it became! I opened up about my highest and lowest moments in med school, including my struggles with weight, disordered eating, and relationships. My YouTube channel became a place where I could share all the lessons I've learned along the way. 🎥
In July 2023, I graduated from medical school and started working as a doctor in the NHS just one month later. I'm so excited to see what the next chapter has in store.
